Gardens Open for NGS Charity Event
Saturday 2nd August - 2.00 to 5.30pm
13 Gipsy Hill, SE19
CPCA members Jon and Eils Digby-Rogers are opening their garden on Saturday 2nd August (2.00-5.30pm) under the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) (gardens open for charity).
The NGS was founded in 1927 to raise money for community nurses by opening private gardens to the public. In the first year 609 "Pioneer" gardens opened and over £8,000 was raised by charging 'a shilling a head'. Now the NGS welcomes over half a million visitors every year. Through this the NGS have raised £40 million since it began, for nursing, caring and gardening charities. In the last 10 years alone the gardens of the NGS have raised £22 million.

John and Eils' garden at 13 Gipsy Hill, open on Saturday August 2nd from 2 - 5.30 pm
Jon and Eils have a beautiful secluded town garden, 17m x 17m, protected by high brick wall and steep shrub-covered bank. Yorkstone terraced areas with many coloured glazed and terracotta pots. Wide variety of different shrubs, climbers and perennials for year round colour. Wisteria covered oak framed pergola, summerhouse, large blown glass and copper fountain, all providing outside rooms for the home.
Admission £3 (children free), tea/coffee and cake £1.50, glass of wine or Pimms £2. ALL proceeds going to the charities.
It’s well worth a visit so please do go along, appreciate the garden and support a good cause.
